Dear Parents ,
Please see some important notices for your attention.
School Calendar
Parents are reminded that the school will close for the mid-term break on Friday 27th October and re-open on Monday 6th November . The full school calendar may be viewed on the homepage of our website . https://emons.ie/
Attendance
The attendance for the school year 2016/2017 was 95.32%. We had 4 pupils with full attendance last year. Congratulations to Darragh Meredith, Jamie Moore, Keelin Murphy and Jack Treacy . We request that parents do not remove children unnecessarily from school during the year. As part of our attendance policy parents will receive a letter from the school when their child has been absent for 10 days.
Punctuality is a life skill and in Emo National School we encourage children to BE ON TIME FOR TEN TO NINE. We understand that when children are late it is not usually the child’s fault so we ask that parents make a special effort to ensure that your child is not consistently late for school.
First Communion and Confirmation Dates .
A meeting of parents of children for First Communion took place in the school on Wednesday 11th October . Many thanks to Fr. Pat for facilitating same.

Child Protection
Our Child Protection Policy was reviewed at our October Board of Management meeting .The Board of management wishes to encourage all parents to read this policy at the following link. https://emons.ie/school-policies/child-protection-guidelines-and-procedures/
Anti- Bullying
Our anti-bullying policy was also reviewed at this meeting. We also spoke to the pupils at assembly on Friday 13th October about the key messages within this policy. Teachers will be completing awareness raising lessons at different stages throughout the year. However, the message remains the same. If a child is giving another child a NO feeling teacher needs to hear about it.It is not the norm and children need to tell an adult. We also need to know the context etc. We encourage parents to read through this policy with your child. Many thanks for your co-operation in advance . https://emons.ie/school-policies/emo-national-school-anti-bullying-policy/
